As the summer is coming to an end and the fall is fast approaching, it is time for us to get things organized for the year. There are many opportunities for people to serve in the church this year, and we would love to see as many people involved as possible in helping “[build] up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ...when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.” (Eph. 4:12-16) Here are some ways that you can get involved!
Small Group Hosts
-We are looking for homes to host our weekly small groups. You do not need to lead the small group to be a host, just provide the space and ensure that you or those you live with can be there every week.
Welcome Table
-We are starting a welcome table where newcomers can receive information and books, and sign up for small groups and other church events. We need someone (one volunteer) to be in charge of the table: organizing the volunteers weekly and setting up the table before church on Sundays.
-We also need volunteers to man the welcome table on Sunday mornings. The more volunteers there are, the less often you would need to man the table.
Sunday Morning Productions
-We need volunteers to come before church and set up for the service as well as tear down after the service. This includes sound equipment, communion table, taking out the sign to the road, setting up the library and information table, etc. Expect to arrive at 8:55 AM on Sundays and stay until around 1:00 PM. There is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes to get the service ready and the more helpers we have, the quicker it will go and the easier it will be for everyone!
Slideshow
-We need volunteers to prepare the slideshow of song lyrics and run it during the worship service. You need a laptop that you can bring to church. There will be training and the worship leaders will assist you with their songs. This takes about 20-30 minutes of preparation each week and you would need to be present to run the projector during the service.
Children's Ministry
-We need volunteers to lead and assist with children's ministry each week (older and younger children). The leader is responsible for teaching, while the helper is there for support. There is a curriculum to follow each week, and there will be training and support from Rebecca Kloosterman, who is leading Children's Ministry this year. Please specify whether you would rather be a leader or helper (or both) and help with older or younger children (or both).
-We also need volunteers to assist in our new nursery (for babies), which will be set up in the room off to the side of the stage.

Even if you've already talked to someone about volunteering in a certain capacity, please send him an email so that we're all on the same page. We depend on everyone in the church working together with the skills God has given you to help our church grow into maturity. If you have any other gifts that you might be able to contribute, don't hesitate to contact him as well with those ideas!
