Philippians 1:1 "Paul and Timothy, servants of Christ Jesus"
Sermon: Slaves of Christ Jesus
1. According to Scripture, everyone is a slave to something or someone. What kinds of things are we enslaved to apart from God? Do we find ourselves still ‘submitting’ to these masters sometimes? What ‘masters’ can we turn from in repentance and follow the Master and Lord, Jesus? (Romans 6:16-18, Titus 3:3-6, Hebrews 2:15)
2. How did Jesus establish his authority over us? What makes him different than other masters? (Philippians 2:5-11)
3. How does being a slave of Christ Jesus change our relationships to one another? Do we see ourselves as servants of our brothers and sisters? Do we belong to them? How can we live our lives more for others, and not ourselves?
